Description for group

Group A


You dance about 6 months up to 1,5 years Lindy Hop and/or Authentic Solo Jazz/Charleston. You go regularly to classes and you also attend socials. Maybe you already visited some international Lindy Hop events.

Group B


You dance at least 1,5 years (or more) of Lindy Hop and you definitely improve your dancing skills also with taking some Authentic Solo Jazz/Charleston classes. You go regularly out to social dance and you regularly visit some international Lindy Hop events. You are comfortable to combine all the things you learnt so far in classes/workshops.

open level


You dance at least about 3 months of Lindy Hop and/or Authentic Solo Jazz/Charleston, so you already have some basic dancing skills.

Mariel

Mariel started dancing Lindy Hop in 2004, when she was 14. Since that time she dedicated herself to dance Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz and Tap and at the same time she learned different styles like jazz dance, classical, contemporary, african dance and tango.

She also studied music at the Municipal Conservatory of Buenos Aires, and later on she focused her training in swing music. She plays clarinet, piano and sings.
Alongside Juan Villafañe and Manuel Bicain, she is the producer of Swingin’ Party, the biggest Lindy Hop party in South America, CA.PO.S, (the Buenos Aires Swing Dance Championships) and Swing City, the first Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz and Tap school in Argentina.
Being one of the most influential swing dancers in South America, Mariel teaches regular classes at Swing City and often travels to teach workshops internationally.

Juan

Juan Villafane is a world-renowned swing dancer, teacher and performer specialised in Lindy Hop & Authentic Jazz.
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he had been dancing for the last 18 years, teaching, competing and performing at some of the most important Lindy Hop events around the world, in the United States, Europe, Asia & Australia.
Alongside Mariel Gastiarena and Manuel Bicain, he is the producer of Swingin’ Party, the biggest Lindy Hop party in South America, CA.PO.S, (the Buenos Aires Swing Dance Championships) and Swing City, the first Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz and Tap school in Argentina.
